Our cap is built with a modern fit, vintage black cotton canvas, heavy stitching and internal reinforcement, flexible visor, adjustable clasp, and embroidered lettering.
The Mechanic's Cap was designed as a functional way to keep the sun out of the eyes of US flight crews during WW2. It was a favorite to many in the armed forces because of its practical nature and because it lent itself well to personalization. Many caps were painted or inked with names, rank, pin-up and cartoon art, and worn with the visor turned upwards.
